We’ve met her twice during a summer vacation in their hacienda where they also have a ranch of their own.

She’s really amazing! When you see her in person, you will not a have a single clue that she can ride the horse like a man. She is very feminine and soft spoken.

She said that she dreamt of becoming a world champion after she realized that she finally found the sport that she loved. So, she trained every single day until she became one of the best riders in the country, and the rest was history.

She have won many gold medals in different local and international equestrian competitions. She said that as early as now she is exposing her kids to the sport, but she still leave it to them to decide whether they want to pursue it or not.

One of my dad and mom’s godson will be graduating this October. All of us are so proud of him, because he managed to finish school, despite his disability. He was born with cerebral palsy, and with the help of therapy and medications, he was somehow able to sit up straight and move his arms, but he had problems when it comes to walking.

He can only stand up in place, and walk a few steps, but cannot really walk in far distances. The doctors never expected him to be able to walk at all, and it took him a long time before he was able to crawl, stand and talk. So, the fact alone that he thinks like a normal person, and acts like a normal person, is already a miracle. At first look, if you see him sitting in the couch watching TV, you would never guess that he has a disability.

He is such a strong willed person, he did not let his disability hinder him from fulfilling his dreams. His parents, and all the people around him are also very supportive and never treated him differently. For everyone, he is a normal person, he also refused to be pushed in a wheelchair. He stand up and walks his short distant walks and the electric handicap medical cart mobility scooter that they bought for him really helped in somehow making him experience a normal life. He still need help at times, and it’s wonderful how people around him are more than willing to give him a hand every time.

He has grown independent despite the fact that he can’t walk. He can do a lot of things like normal people do, and he is really intelligent. Most of his teachers are impressed with him. My parents are really proud of his great success, and graduating as cum laude. That’s my godbrother Daniel, a strong and inspiring person.

Big success comes from small and simple beginnings. Some people easily grow hopeless when they fail and don’t get what they wish for, or when they don’t become what they want to be. They want to achieve big thing easily and immediately, without working hard for it.

Everytime they see others becoming successful, they think that they are less of a person they are just because they can’t achieve what others can. That is the biggest mistake and sin one can do to himself. To not believe in one’s full potential, and give up without trying again.

Often, it is not fate that we have to fight against, and it’s not others that we need to compete with. Rather it is ourselves whom we have to examine and see through.

Don’t dwell with the negative thoughts Instead, ask yourself positive questions like Who am I? What do I love to do? What are the things I could do to change things for the better? What are the talents, qualities and skills that I possess that I can use to become successful? To win the battle, we have to start the fight from within. Like what one of those who went through an opiate detox said, it was when he realized that the root of his addiction and problems are not the external factors, but his own personal issues. He went through life blaming things to his job, his parents, etc. etc. and looked for things which he can divert his anger into, which led him to the wrong path. But, he realized he was wrong. It was his insecurities that got the better of him.

By looking deep within himself and accepting his flaws he began to think that a person who truly loves himself would not do things to himself that are catastrophic. They key is to learn to love and accept oneself, no matter how imperfect. He is now striving to become the best that he can be with the help of his loved ones.

Last night, my wife and I went to a part organized by her old college friends. We only stayed there for a short time though, because we had to go home. My mom called and said that Iñigo was having fever, so we told her friends and then we left and took our son to the doctor. We can’t compromise a simple fever, because dengue is very prevalent recently.

Anyway, there was this old friend of my wife named Eliza, she used to be chubby, but last night she looked really sexy and fab. They were all surprised to see her, because they haven’t heard from them fro awhile. She said that she really wanted to surprise everyone with her new looks. She used this supplement called apidexin cheap but effective. Oh well, I guess she has proven it does, with the way she turned out to be.

It reminds me of the story of the ugly duckling who turned into a beautiful swan, because last night there was no doubt that the girl who used to be unnoticed was the star of the party.

The king offered half of his Kingdom and the hand of his daughter, the princess, for marriage, to the best warrior and rider in the Kingdom.

The king had no knowledge that her daughter the princess disguised as an equestrian warrior and entered the competition, because she did not want to marry any of the participants. Her most beloved person was the son of their Butler and her childhood friend. At night she would escape into the woods wearing her breeches and full rider’s outfit and practice until the break of dawn before everyone is awake. And through the years of practice and training she became the best rider in the kingdom. She also had a tough training when it comes to fighting, and no one had the knowledge about that, even her own father.

During the competition, she defeated all the other participants, and when the day of the crowning came she revealed her true identity and the King was shocked. Shen then told her father that she wasn’t going to marry anybody if it’s not the butler’s son, her true love. And they King granted her wish and they lived happily ever after.

Growing is fun, but going through a lot of “firsts” can be both frightening and exciting.

Remember your first day of school, your first visit to the dentist or your first bicycle ride? Remember how you felt when you first sang solo in the stage? Just like anybody else, you probably felt scared and alone. Your heart beat like drums. Your ice-cold hands and feet sweated and you got fluttering butterflies in your stomach.

Sometimes you’d think of giving up or turning your back. But more often you would realize that it’s no better way to keep you going and growing.

Some “firsts” are exciting. The first time you got a brand-new Swatch watch. Then there’s your first Nintendo computer video game; you’d smile and giggle after winning a contest on your first try. And then your first jet-plane ride on a journey to a faraway land.

These strange “firsts” are important because they are part of growing up. Some of them give you unpleasant feelings, but they can help you grow strong, confident and useful if you know how to handle and overcome them.

Do you know that plants and trees also undergo unpleasant conditions so that they could grow stronger and bear more fruits? Farmers allow them to go through a time of less and abundant water alternately. Those that get enough water most of the time during the early stage are weaker, bear lesser fruits and are easily uprooted by storm and strong winds.

God wants us to be strong so He allows us to experience frightening “firsts” and unpleasant conditions as we grow up. But more than anything, He makes us go through a lot of exciting “firsts” , surprises and victories to brighten our lives and makes our days pleasant and wonderful.

This is a family friendly blog. Although I want to give you a warning that this post that you are about to read has some content that may stir your emotions and affect your way of thinking. But unlike crack or pot, it is not illegal and it will make you feel so much better in a good way.

I bring you another inspirational story to share to others or read to your kids before bedtime. The author of this story is unknown which makes me think why most authors who have good materials would rather not be known. I guess some of you have already heard or read this story. It’s called “Tale of the Water Bearer’s Pots” but it’s popularly or commonly known as “The Cracked Pot” Inspirational Story.

The Cracked Pot

A water bearer in India carried two large pots suspended from the ends of a pole that he carried across his shoulders. One of the pots was perfect and always delivered a full load of water at the end of the long walk from the stream to the master’s house. But the other pot was cracked and arrived only half full.
The perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments, but the cracked pot felt sad that it could achieve only half of what it had been made to do. one day, after two years of bitter failure, it spoke to the water bearer. “I am ashamed of myself,” it said, “and I want to apologize.”
“Why?” asked the water bearer.
“For the past two years, I’ve delivered only half my load because this crack in my side causes water to leak out all the way back to your master’s house. Because of my flaws you don’t get full value from your efforts.”
But the water bearer replied, “As we return to the master’s house I want you to notice the beautiful flowers along the path.”
Sure enough as they went up the hill, the cracked pot noticed the sun warming many beautiful wild flowers.
“Did you notice that there were flowers only on your side of the path?” the water bearer asked. “That’s because I’ve always known about your flaw and I took advantage of it. I planted flower seeds on your side of the path. You watered them everyday as we walked back from the stream. For the past two years I’ve used those flowers to decorate the master’s table. If you weren’t just the way you are, he would not have had this beauty to grace his house.”

We’re all cracked pots, but nothing goes to waste in God’s great economy. He uses our flaws to grace the universe. So don’t be afraid of your flaws, for in your weakness you will find strength.

Sometimes we tend to focus on our weaknesses and flaws, and we become sad about them that we think we are no good. We forget that God has created each invidual unique and there’s a reason behind it. We do not have to strive to be like others whom we think are perfect, because perfection cannot be determined by how good a person looks, how much he has, what he can do, or what he can offer to others. Sometimes perfection is simply being contented with the way that we are, acknowledging our good points, and making use of our own talents and abilities to be able to make the world a better place. Sharing and giving even if you do not have much, is more than those who give just because they are proud of having too much and want to make themselves look good to others.

Here’s The Cracked Pot video version, this is really cute.

The Wooden Bowl is one motivational story that really touched my heart. It also motivated me to even become a much better parent to my son Iñigo, to watch my every gesture and to make sure that I only set good example to my son as well as my younger siblings. This story reminds me that children are being molded at home. They imitate what they observe, what they see and hear, and are likely to remember and follow what adults do.

A child is born with a pure mind and it is up to us to teach them and instill in them the good character that will help mold the into better individuals when they grow up. A child usually carries that character that he has grown with at home, and take it with him anywhere he goes, for the rest of his life.

So let us be good role models to our kids, and to the young ones around us.

The motivational story of The Wooden Bowl also teaches us the lesson to love, respect and give value to our grandparents, because without them, there would be no us. The only way we could thank them is to give them the love, respect, and treatment that they deserve – unconditionally.

Someday you will become old too, and for sure you do not want to be treated badly. Read and be motivated to become better parents, children and individuals…

A Motivational Story with Wisdom – The Wooden Bowl
Author Unknown

A frail old man went to live with his son, daughter-in-law, and four-year grandson. The old man’s hands trembled, his eyesight was blurred, and his step faltered. The family ate together at the table. But the elderly grandfather’s shaky hands and failing sight made eating difficult. Peas rolled off his spoon onto the floor. When he grasped the glass, milk spilled on the tablecloth.

The son and daughter-in-law became irritated with the mess. “We must do something about Grandfather,” said the son. “I’ve had enough of his spilled milk, noisy eating, and food on the floor”. So the husband and wife set a small table in the corner. There, Grandfather ate alone while the rest of the family enjoyed their dinners together.

Since Grandfather had broken a dish or two, his food was served in a wooden bowl. When the family glanced in Grandfather’s direction, sometimes he had a tear in his eye as he sat alone. Still, the only words the couple had for him were sharp admonitions when he dropped a fork or spilled food.

The four-year-old watched it all in silence. One evening before supper, the father noticed his son playing with wood scraps on the floor. He asked the child sweetly, “What are you making?” Just as sweetly, the boy responded, “Oh, I am making a little bowl for you and Mama to eat your food in when you get old.” The four year old smiled and went back to work.

The words so struck the parents that they were speechless. Then tears started to stream down their cheeks. Though no word was spoken, both knew what must be done. That evening the husband took Grandfather’s hand and gently led him back to the family table. For the remainder of his days he ate every meal with the family. And for some reason, neither husband nor wife seemed to care any longer when a fork was dropped, milk spilled, or the tablecloth soiled.
