Old Passion
I’m not sure if it’s part of the culture, or because it’s a sign of status in life, or just a hobby that’s been influenced by the westerners, but see a lot of people, most especially the war veterans, always have smoking pipes.
My friend’s grandpa reminds me of Lolo Arthuro, aside from the fact that they have similar since of humor, they also have passion for the same stuff. Perhaps because they came from the same era, the Mac Arthur times.Lolo Arthuro is Abuelo’s friend who is so fond of America’s most-requested premium macanudo cigars. My Abuelo would always request my dad to buy his Amigo a present whenever he comes home from a trip, and lolo Arthuro would be so pleased and thankful with the present.
I remember after my Abuelo passed away, he was like, now, no one will be giving me my favorites, and then he asked me jokingly if I could ask my dad if he could have his wine collections instead. Being a good friend to my abuelo, my dad gave him some of Abuelo’s most treasured collections, and some we kept at home.
