Growing Old Pains

Aside from the emotional stresses that we experience as we grow old, we also experience a lot of physical pains. Abuela, who is now over eighty years old, is not as strong and active as she used to be. She already have her limits. Her legs start to swell and feel numb when she walks too much and she doesn’t hang them to rest the muscles.

Abuela also experience her joints aching. We massage her legs for joint pain relief and also apply some medicine. The doctors said that this is normal for people her age because the structure of her body changes as she grows older. All that we can do is just to make sure she does not overwork herself, or walk too much, or stand too long without resting.
We also make sure that we watch what she eats, and the amount of sugar intake, and that she always take her supplements and her maintenance medicine, to make sure that she stays healthy.
