Dee and I just came home from visiting a family friend, Uncle Reuben, who is currently confined at the hospital after having a surgery two weeks ago after he had an accident. We are glad that he’s fine and the operation was successful. The doctors said that he will be able to recover and not so much damage was brought about by the accident, and they already took care of everything. It will just take some rest and therapy and he will be able to walk run, and even play tennis again.

We talked about a lot of things because he asked if we could stay for awhile since Aunt Nida needs to buy some of his medicines, and so we did. At first the conversation was serious and we talked about how hard it was for him to deal with the whole situation, and then we noticed that uncle Reuben was wearing a knee-high juzo stockings. He said that he need to wear them for awhile to support his legs. He made a joke about how he never imagined that he will be wearing stockings in his lifetime. He said that he used to joke about his wife wearing stockings, and now he’s a man on stockings too. But of course, it’s necessary for him to wear the surgical stockings because it was advised by the doctors.

He said he can’t wait to get out of the hospital and hopefully play tennis with my dad again after six months or so, if the doctor would allow it. We sincerely hope and pray that he recuperate from his condition fast and get back to his normal life again.
