TV Programs Educating Masses About Mesothelioma

I’ve never been a fan of the local television drama series which my mom, Abuela, wife and sister are so fond of watching. But just recently, I’ve realized how big the role these programs play in educating people about certain things. Important matters such as politics, corruption, and other issues in the society. It is sort of an eye opener for people too, because they tackle so many issues that happens in real life.

They are no longer the type of television series that feed the audience with nothing but heartaches, scenes to make them cry, in other words, nothing but all the miseries and drama in this life. I mean that’s still a huge factor, but they now focus more on the realistic side of life, and stories of real people. I was even amazed that they are also now promoting health awareness about mesothelioma cancer. Like one program for example has cases about people affected by mesothelioma cancer, and the causes were explained, and how the disease was related to asbestos, and the faulty waste management of certain companies. To think that this health drive against mesothelioma cancer is not even that visible in the health industry, which makes me wonder who is taking care of discriminating important information regarding it to help people become aware of one of the most dreaded disease.

I am just glad to see how the local television series has evolved into something more, having more substance than just drama. I hope more programs will follow this lead, and stop showing nothing but drama, violence, and all other crappy materials that people do not learn any lesson from.
