How to Avoid Male Infertility and Have Healthy Sperm?

father-and-babyOne of the greatest thing in a man’s life is becoming a dad, but not all men are created equal. Some are born to become dads, and some are not — and some simply put a bad twist on this valuable gift of giving life  and ruin their chance to become one.

Men’s Health and Fertility studies indicate that male infertility cases are continuously rising and this is for the most part attributable to our lifestyle. However, there are simple measures that can be taken to aid enhance fertility rate in men and improve the health of their sperm cells.

One of the most common things that are advised is to wear lose clothing, particularly in the groin area. As much as possible, avoid wearing tight trousers, briefs and other types of underpants. The temperature in your scrotum is one of the factors that highly affects fertility in men. It should be 4 degrees below the temperature of the rest of your body. This is because the testes is hanging separately from the rest of the body. Personally, I prefer wearing cotton boxers, wearing comfortable underpants can help boost fertility.

Experts says, hot tubs and saunas — though great for relaxation, negatively affects the sperm’s health when frequently used and contributes to lowering the sperm count. So, if you and your wife are trying to have a baby, try to as much as possible avoid using hot tubs and sauna baths.

It’s also time to bid goodbye to drinking Alcohol, because it can cause a potential damage to your sperm. If you have a low sperm count, you have to completely avoid drinking alcohol, and if you cannot stop it immediately, try to limit your alcohol consumption. But it is still more advisable if you try to avoid it completely, unless otherwise you’d rather enjoy drinking than stary a family and have kids.

Aside from drinking, you should also get rid of smoking because it is one of the major causes of impotence in men. I personally know someone who got impotent due to being a chain smoker. He regretted having the vice, because now, no matter what type of cleansing regimens he has tried — it’s too late and he and his wife cannot bear a child anymore. So, they just adopted a kid. Smoking is a proven cause of infertility in men, and those who refuse to believe it now — may only learn the lesson later in their lives. Studies shows that smokers fertily ratio to non-smokers is 1:2. Meaning smokers lose 50% of their chance to become dads. Nicotine does not only clogs arteries and limits blood flow to our reproductive organs but it also causes permanent damage to the sperm lowering fertility. As we all know, smoking is also dangerous to our health in general and can cause severe damage to our heart and lungs, and can even cause cancer and other fatal diseases.

Drugs should also be avoided if you want your sperm to stay healthy and fertile. drugs such as steroids and cytotoxic drugs used in the treatment of cancer, can damage the sperm and permanently cause sterility.

Some say it is good to abstain, and some say no get it off as much as you can, but both . excessive ejaculation and long-term abstinence are noted to have a negative impact on the number and health of sperm. Having intercourse every 2 to 3 days helps in maintaining a good volume of healthy sperm cells.

Having a healthy and well-balanced diet is also essential in staying fertile. Having a sound and healthy body means healthier sperm cells! Those who want to become dads, make sure that your daily meals contain sufficient amounts of proteins, as well as vitamins and minerals that can help in maintaining healthy and normal sperm count.

There are some natural and herbal supplements being introduced in the market today, that helps aid fertility and increase the sperm count in men. But prior to grabbing those fertility boosters and enhancers, make sure that they are free from different kinds of side effects that may be bad to your other organs. Not all supplements and fertility enhancers are recommended for use. You must consult your doctor and make sure that the one you buy is clinically approved.
