Grocery Shopping With Kids

kid grocery shoppingMy son Iñigo loves to tag along with me and my wife  Dee, whenever we go shopping for groceries. Before, I didn’t really know  why he loves doing so, because he used to complain a lot, its either he want to go home or go directly to the toys section to play. Sometimes he would rather tag along with my little brothers who play games at the arcade. But recently, he seems to enjoy grocery shopping with us.

Dee and I were both glad because it is a good thing for us. We no longer need to worry where to leave him while we do our little task. Before we used to leave him in the playschool at the mall, and we have to pay for it. But recently, he’s the one insisting to go with us.

So, we took Iñigo with us  to shop for goods, milk, and other food items. When we got home, I noticed some items that I never really bought, and I thought, perhaps it was Dee who actually bought them, so I didn’t mind.

Whenever I pay for the items, Dee and Inigo usually go out of the grocery first, through the exit area, so I don’t get the chance to confirm whether it was an item she chose to buy or not. Thinking that it was Dee who want to buy the goods, I just include them and let the cashier pass those items through price barcode scanners and off to the grocery bags — and I just pay for the total price.

But during the second to the last time we went shopping Dee was the one who also noticed the items that we did not really buy. So she asked me why I bought those food items, and I told her I thought she was the one who got them.

So, this morning we observed Inigo while  we were shopping for groceries and he was riding in the cart, we noticed he was actually picking up some food items throwing them into the grocery cart. Now, we know why he loves to go with us. He really want to shop too! I guess  next time, we have to be more observant to make sure that we wont be paying for items that we don’t really need.
