Some people leave their home towns and countries to go abroad in the hopes of finding a better job and build a new life. There are those who leave alone, and some are lucky to be able to bring their whole family along with them. It’s like a new beginning, everything new. Many become successful at their ventures but there are also those who go back to where they started.
Every new beginning does not mean things will be easy, there will new challenges to face, and you need to have enough courage and determination in order to overcome the obstacles that you will meet along the way. This is true to those OFW’s who took the courage to work in other countries in order to provide for their family, give their children a good education and prepare them for a brighter future.
People from different walks of life, different industries and educational backgrounds, some are those who had the chance to acquire medical assisting certification and got the chance to work in the health care industry. Just like one of our neighbors, who used to work as a private nurse and caregiver. She got the chance to get an employment as a caregiver, so even if she graduated as a nurse, she still grabbed the opportunity, hoping that once she is there, she can finally work as a nurse since she has complete papers.
Ate Mia said that, for her kids, and given the current status of the country’s economy, working as a caregiver abroad has a higher compensation than her current job. She said that at this point, you just have to grab every opportunity that comes along your way, and then work to progress. I salute her courage and determination, and all that she is doing for her kids.
