Sunday is a special day for our whole family, because Sunday is our devotion and family day, a time to reflect and attend mass, spend quality time with our loved ones at home.
With all the family members complete, this is the day that we are required to cancel all our appointments with other people, unless otherwise it’s a matter of life and death. We just stay at home after going to church together. It is a strict rule that mom and dad has implemented. They said that no matter how busy our lives during weekdays will become, we should always find time to rest, relax, and give time for our family.
All our Sundays have been marked this way from the start, and it will stay as a our family tradition. We spend some time to bond, cook good food, talk about things, sing karaoke and videoke songs, sometimes do gardening too.
Sunday is also our family movie day where we reserve after dinner time to just sit back and relax in our sofas, getting all cozy snuggling together, to watch a good movie. It does not require to have a huge home theater to have fun watching a movie at home. We’re a big family and our TV isn’t even that huge, neither do we have expensive lazy boy seats. You can simply imagine us in our living room, huddling together in our two sofas joined in an L position, eating popcorn, or sometimes when we’re lucky, we get to eat ice cream or pizza.
Sometimes, we have a movie marathon. We watch two to three movies until it’s time to sleep. But if we do this, we usually have dinner early, and start movie time early, since we can’t stay up late either because we have to wake up early the following day.
Dad always make sure to rent a good movie, but usually, we all have our suggestions, and then we decide which to watch first, and then reserve the rest for the next weekend. We also do this during holidays, or other occasions wherein we are complete.
I don’t know why others find it more fun to stay out, or go out and drink, when you can be all comfy, happy, and healthy while having total fun with your family at home. For me, I will treasure each and every Sundays I have in my life.
