Another Family Reunion to look forward to
I guess I have other reasons why I should be glad during my long vacation. It is just the right timing for my Aunt Alona’s summer vacation. To those who does not know or never had the chance to read my previous posts, Aunt Alona is my mom’s only sister and sibling. She is based in New York, with her husband Uncle Roy and my cousins Marc and Rachel.
I got to talk to them again last night through facebook, and they told me not to worry too much and not to grow sad because of the consequences of my decision. They said, it will definitely be worth it, I just need to be patient, and that God will provide. I told them that I have trust in my God more than anyone, and I know He will never forsake me. Whatever is it that I have to face now, is just a tip of the iceberg of challenges that I may face in the future, and with Him by my family’s side always, I will get through it all just fine.
Anyway, back to my Aunt’s home coming, as usual my two cousins will be tagging along. It’s been awhile since I last bonded with them. My siblings are excited too because Marc and Rachel promised to hand down their gadgets and gaming consoles, etc., just the usual hand-me-downs. I’m excited for them too, but I’m more excited of the fact that we will be reunited with the close and only family relatives that we have.
I know that my mom miss her sister too. It’s been awhile since they last saw each other. Aunt mentioned that maybe within the year, she would also arrange a vacation for my mom and dad to visit their place. Although my mom isn’t the type who loves to travel, she finally agreed this time. She should have done it a long time ago. If they will ask to take me to New York with them, I would definitely say yes. I guess it would also be easier for Dee to find jobs in banking industry.
My Aunt’s whole family will be arriving from the US a week before June and will be spending the whole summer with us. Instead of traveling to different places, like what they did last time, they want to stay in one place this time and enjoy the whole vacation minus all the expenses and stress of traveling from one place to another. This way, they would be able to appreciate and enjoy their vacation, in a more relaxed way.
We are currently arranging the place where they would stay. Uncle Roy considered renting a villa by the beach because our house isn’t as big as before where we can all squeeze ourselves into. Now, the space is just enough for a family of ten.
Tropics summer is over and the rainpours are here, but I’m looking forward to a happy vacation this year. May it rain with blessings… and they say, when it rains it pours, I wanna take that in a more positive way of accepting the blessings that I was showered and will be showered with, and just let the bad things pass by.

Ang sarap naman. I use to be so close with my titas and titos and cousins from my father side. but family would sometimes walk different paths and end up in different places. Some of them is in the US now, Others in Canada and UK. Now we chat a lot but see each other once in a blue moon. That is why Family reunions are really a looking-forward affair. Celebrate.
