Tasered to Death – A 15 year old teen from Michigan dies after being Tasered by Police

Tasered to Death -  A 15 year old teen from Michigan dies after being Tasered by a Bay City Police Officer. According to reports released by Bay City police department,  a fight was reported early morning of Sunday. According to the witnesses statement, two males were on the peak of an argument in one of the apartments in the area. The Police officers came to break the fight, and one of them (the 15 year old teen) “attempted to fight the officers.”

Tasered and Dead – According to the report, police officers Tasered the subject, apparently, the 15 year old teen from Michigan had an extreme reaction that resulted to his death. The police officers called for an emergency medical help but it was too late. The “tasered 15 year old teen” was pronounced dead at the Bay Regional Medical Center.

Do you think using a Taser is actually good? If you have no idea what Tasers are, they fall under the electroshock weapons category. A Taser uses electrical current instead of bullets to weaken a subject. Tasers were introduced and legally allowed to be used by authorities being less-lethal compared to guns. Although tasers are only to be used by police or authorities to subdue belligerent, fleeing, or potentially dangerous accused or subjects,  instead of using lethal weapons like guns, or knives. However the use of taser was proven not safe at all times  and has become a subject of controversy due to instances that  resulted to either serious injury and death.

Tasers are not only used by authorities these days, but there are also many private individuals who use them for self-defense and security reasons. The incident of the 15 year old teen from Michigan who died after being “Tasered by Police” is not an isolated case. There are many victims already. One of them is a pregnant woman who was “tasered by police” too. Do you think that police using tasers to control a certain situation is against human rights or not?
