The Family Tree

The Family Tree. My little sister Amari is currently doing a project, and it’s all about the family tree. We’re all helping her out, but it’s Abuela Anna who has the most contribution, coz she’s the senior. But, it makes us sad because we don’t really know our relatives on my mom’s side. We didn’t even get the chance to know her dad Lolo Miguel, and her mom Lola Maria. Actually, the only thing I know is that they are a second family.  She has a sister, our aunt Alona who is in New York.  But we hardly see her too, although Aunt Alona will visit us this June together with her husband Uncle Roy and our two cousins, Marc and Rachel. Aside from that we don’t really know anything anymore. I couldn’t remember a time that mom Chloe talked about relatives either on her mom’s  or dad’s side. I guess there’s a story that mom doesn’t want to tell us, but it’s okay, what’s important is that we are happy and our family is together.

In my dad’s side, we have a complete family tree. It’s actually easy to make one coz dad has only one sibling, our late Uncle Luis. He had no wife and children, but he had us… and we loved him so much and we still and always will. We treated him like our own dad, and he treated us like his own kids. He’s the best Uncle ever!

Maybe there’s a side of our family that’s complicated, but as far as we are concerned, for as long as we are happy and together we will be just fine. Whatever happened in the past, is now nothing more but a part of the past. In the future, I will make sure my children, and my children’s children will be able to make a better and complete family tree, with all our names on it. :P
