JR

Jose Iñigo Jr., JR as we fondly him is the second child and known to be a Mama’s Boy. JR is 18 y/o about to turn 19 this year, he is a sophomore in college taking up Psychology.  He is our Dad’s Junior because he looks a lot like him. When he was born, my Lolo Tacio said, Junior yan ha! JR is close to dad too, but he is really close to my mom. He is also my mom’s pet and home buddy.

JR loves to cook and do gardening like mom and Lolo Tacio. While I was out playing, he was home doing sensible stuff with mom. I think the reason why he got too close to mom is because, when she had JR, she stopped working and really took care of him, while my dad was always at work.  JR was sickly when he was a kid and he really needed to be taken cared of. He grew up just fine and healthy and he’s never had any major sickness since then until now. JR is also a Lola’s boy (grandma’s pet), Abuela is so fond of him.

My brother is just an average kid, not too hyper like Miko and not too baby like Paolo and  Amari. He’s the cool guy! JR doesn’t like making things too complicated.  He always say “the key to success is to relax, focus and to keep things simple.” JR has this aura that when you’re with him you always feel relaxed. He do things in order and he is very neat. If Paolo is more into string instruments, JR is the one who plays the piano. We used to have a piano before things went wrong, but the piano together with the other things are gone now, I will tell you about that some other time.

Anyway, back to JR, he is also a pet lover. It’s coz of him that’s why we have dogs, Balbon and Tikoy. He is also the one who adopted Bob. Lolo Tacio admired JR for being such a well-mannered boy. He always say, “Kamukhang kamukha ng papa nya pero ibang iba ang ugali, mabuting bata,” which means JR looks a lot like my dad but he has a different character and that JR is a good kid. I bet my dad was a spoiled brat! Haha!

JR is a bookworm too!  He has a lot of books from all book categories, old to new. All the best sellers, if he can’t have the hard bound ones he try to look for the paperback copies, or ebooks. He was the one who told us about Bob Ong, because he was the one who suggested that we name our cat Bob, after the writer Bob Ong. JR is not geeky at all, I think he has the best fashion sense among us, excluding my sis of course who is a little fashionista.

Many have doubted his sexuality before, but JR doesn’t mind them, and he has  a steady gf whom he plans to marry after college. He is not a hot-head at all, and he just says “I don’t care about what they think, all I know that they’re wrong and my conscience is clean, leave the judgment to  God.” I don’t quite understand why when a certain person is soft spoken, well-mannered, neat, and intellectual, people usually misinterpret them and questions their sexuality. JR is one brother that I am so proud of having. When everyone is already panicking, he is the type of person who can still think clearly and do the right things and come up with the best decisions. That’s why I know that his dream of one day becoming a doctor will really fit his personality best. He is amiable, easy to approach, relaxed, and most of all caring.
