Amari — My Youngest sibling and Sister who is also known as “The Spoiled Unica Hija” (Unica Hija means only daughter in Spanish). She was supposed to be named after our two Abuelita’s, Lola Anna and our late Lola Maria, making her name Anna Maria. But me and the rest of the pack (my brothers) disliked the idea. Not that we have no respect for our grandmothers but we just thought that it was too… archaic? So we thought of a name that would still honor our grandmothers but will sound a little more cool for a classic name.
Pao (Paolo Andres, my youngest brother) suggested Anna Marie, and we still thought it was so common, JR said maybe Anna Mariel would do, and we all thought it was fine until Miko Alfonso, who plays Malcolm in the Middle suggested the best choice which is Amari. We all agreed to it, and so our little sister was named Amari.
Being the youngest in the family, she is our baby. Amari is only 9 years old, and is a very bright kid. But of course! Mana sa akin yun eh! She is the friendliest, I suppose, and although she’s kind of bratty she loves my son Iñigo so much, and she looks after him when we’re not around. Amari being the only girl, gets all the attention from all of us. She is so malambing (sweet) and thoughtful too.
