Everytime I pass by a certain blog called sewing mom, it reminds me of Abuela, my mom, and Dee, because one of the things that they know in common is how to sew. Actually, it was abuela who taught both mom and Dee.
If you get a chance to visit our house, you will really appreciate their work too. None of the curtains, covers, bed covers, pillow cases, and even the kitchen and bathroom towels are bought ready-made. All of them are sewed and designed by the sewing moms at home. Read the rest of this entry »
Aside from the emotional stresses that we experience as we grow old, we also experience a lot of physical pains. Abuela, who is now over eighty years old, is not as strong and active as she used to be. She already have her limits. Her legs start to swell and feel numb when she walks too much and she doesn’t hang them to rest the muscles.
Abuela also experience her joints aching. We massage her legs for joint pain relief and also apply some medicine. The doctors said that this is normal for people her age because the structure of her body changes as she grows older. All that we can do is just to make sure she does not overwork herself, or walk too much, or stand too long without resting.
We also make sure that we watch what she eats, and the amount of sugar intake, and that she always take her supplements and her maintenance medicine, to make sure that she stays healthy.
We are all excited about the summer vacation particularly the coming holy week. We are all going to Boracay!
My dad already got the tickets and the hotel reservations and there’s no stopping the whole gang from raiding the white sandy beach of the island paradise. Boracay is a famous destination for people from different walks of life. Kids to adults, male or female, everyone loves Boracay, and so do I!
I guess the holy week will be well spent too, my mom and Dee are looking forward to their raw, less carbo and meatless diets for quick weight loss during the summer vacation, so they would look great on their swimming attires. While me, dad, and my younger siblings are looking forward to playing frisbee on the white sand by the seashore. Abuela just simply want to see the beauty of the island.
Boracay, here we come!
The average human lifespan has been decreasing for the past years, this is due to the changing lifestyle, as well as the type of food we eat. During the past, our ancestors lived for over hundred years, because there was no pollution, everything they eat are fresh, and they walk a lot.
Nowadays, pollution is all over, from water to air and even noise, and the food we eat are mostly rich in preservatives, and the plats have spray. Some drink too much alcohol and many have developed the bad habit of smoking. We all have to change this before it’s too late. Read the rest of this entry »
Summer is the perfect time to trim down, and loose all the love handles we’ve had during the rest of the year. Because the season itself and the temperature gives us a lot of opportunity to work out and sweat up. There are so many activities that we can do, either at the beach or even just at home. It’s also the perfect time to take your diet supplements and other weight-loss products, because even short walks under the sun will make you sweat up and will stimulate your body to work and burn all those fats.
I even told my friends that we can try to enroll at the gym or maybe go hiking, mountain climbing and do other sports, since it would be the fun way to trim down without noticing or working too hard on it. The more fun activities you do, the more you sweat up and work out, and the faster your metabolism works. The fresh fruit juices with high fiber would also help a lot. And this is what makes summer great, aside from the fact that summer itself is a season for fun and enjoyment.
